It’s been 24 hours since Minecraft Dungeons II officially released, with thousands of players returning to the world of Minecraft in search of powerful weapons, loot, and a chance to explore the first new dimension Mojang has added in 14 years. While the gameplay and overall experience are proving to be a hit so far, a handful of technical problems and some reported gameplay shortcomings remain.

Mixed Blocks

So far, Minecraft Dungeons II is resonating with many fans and critics across almost all platforms. Several improvements have been made since the first game, including enchantments, fast travel, the overworld, and jump attacks. But so far, not all is well on PC.

Several users have reported having problems with Dungeons II so far. This is mainly due to account-linking issues that cause the game to crash, as well as broken Linux support. While fans are enjoying the brand new Sift dimension, which adds a bunch of colorful mobs, both friendly and hostile, others are leaving negative reviews in equal measure.

At the time of writing, Steam Reviews for Minecraft Dungeons II sit at 60% positive. While some boast that the sequel delivers an elevated experience over the first game, other fans question whether the game is too short. Some players report finishing the game in under 6 hours and say the new armor system didn’t really create more diverse builds.

All in all, Dungeons II seems like a mixed bag. If you enjoyed the first game with your friends, you will likely have fun with the sequel. On the other hand, you might run into problems on PC or notice some questionable balancing choices. Still, despite all this, Dungeons II is still proving to be a very fun time generally across the board.
