Valheim’s Are You Alright? Achievement Is Brutal

Since the launch of Valheim 1.0, the game has added a bunch of brand-new achievements that Vikings couldn’t earn before launch. While many are straightforward, such as defeating every boss on normal or hard mode, crafting, building, or sailing a lot, there are a few that prove to be a bit difficult or weird to obtain. Easily one of the more misleading achievements in the game, based on its description, is Are You Alright? Achievement.
Deadly & Diseptive

The Are You Alright? Achievement is one of the deadlier and more misleading ones. The achievement’s in-game description says you need to “die in every way possible.” Despite initial impressions, this isn’t the case. When I first set out to get this achievement on my fresh playthrough, I initally thought I needed to die in literally every way possible. From every enemy, damage type, environmental hazard, and more. But turns out you don’t. The achievement only requires 16 total different deaths, which are:
- Death By Enemy
- Death By Falling
- Death By Tree
- Death By Smoke
- Death By Burning
- Death By Poisoning
- Death By Drowning
- Death By Freezing
- Death by Stalactite
- Death By Catapult
- Death By the Obliterator
- Death By Ashlands Ocean
- Death By Ashlands Lava
- Death By Ballista
- Death By Drawbridge
- Sail Over the Edge of the World
It’s worth noting that if you are going for this achievement, you might want to do it in small bursts so you don’t lose your skill points over and over again. Or make a fresh character in an already explored world and go die in all the necessary places.
As for some of the more confusing ones, like the Stalactite, it is only found inside Frost Caves. For the Obliterator, you have to stand on top of it as it goes off. The Ashlands, ocean, and lava are two different sources, so dying in the water and in the normal lava are separate requirements.
Plus, sailing over the Edge of the World is actually a separate achievement on its own, so two birds with one stone. And there’s actually a separate achievement for getting crushed by every different type of tree in the game. So if you want that one as well, better get used to standing under falling logs.
