Deep Rock Galactic Reveals Season 7 & First Expansion DLC
Ghost Ship Games just confirmed at The Big Break Showcase that, after months of content drought, Deep Rock Galactic is finally getting some new content, with Season 07, Season 08, & a new Expansion DLC officially coming in the future.
Rock & Stone!
That’s right alongside teasing Rogue Cores Update 3, Ghost Ship Games is shipping out Season 7 Contingency Protocol near the end of this year. So far, the devs are aiming for a December release.
So far, what we know this season is bringing is:
- New Overclocks
- Revising the Perk System
- 11 new perks have been added.
- Some old perks have been reworked.
- Addition of a new “Perk Maintenance” system, which will function similarly to the existing Weapon Maintenance system.
- Once all perks are unlocked, you’ll be able to unlock “Perk Proficiency” slots, which lets players dump excess points into them to grant very small baseline stat buffs.
- Tattoo Cosmetics
- Traversal Tool Paintjobs
- New Season Event
- New Performance Pass
Season 08 + Expansion DLC
As for the following season and the first-ever Expansion DLC, the release window is summer 2027. As with any other season, Season 8 will be free for everyone, and the developers still plan to continue free content updates in the future. However, they also say Season 8 will likely be one of the smaller seasons, since it’s shipping with the expansion.
As for the expansion, the developers sadly don’t have anything to share right now, as a lot of details are still up in the air.
But for the DRG Universe overall, they did share a roadmap of all the updates coming across all three games!
