Some big potential news just dropped about GTA VI on PC. According to Gamesbeat, which got its info from four sources that wish to remain anonymous, GTA VI might be hitting PC sooner than we think.

GTA VI on PC?

If these reports are true, neither Rockstar nor its parent company, Take-Two, has yet commented on GTA VI hitting PC just a few months after its launch on Xbox Series X & S and PlayStation 5. Initally many fans anticipated that the eventual PC release would take at most upwards of a year, if not longer. This is mainly judging from how long it took GTA V to release on PC.

This may also tie into the rumored multiplayer mode for GTA VI we heard about a few months back. Some fans are calling it the sequel to GTA Online, or GTA Online 2.

At least in the market, it’s obvious why Rockstar would prioritize GTA VI’s console launch, since the user base largely lives there, while PC is a much smaller minority. Which typically isn’t that common nowadays, but it’s interesting to think about in the big picture.

Plus, in an interview with Bloomberg, Strauss Zelnick said that GTA:

“always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you’re judged by serving the core. Like really serving the core consumer. If your core consumer isn’t there, if they’re not served first and best, you kind of don’t hit your other consumers.”

But it’s all but confirmed that GTA VI will arrive on PC, just as Max Payne 3, GTA V, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 did in the past.

Plus, we can also pull from yet another interview with Bloomberg at Tokyo Game Show, where Twitch chief executive officer Dan Clancy said that GTA VI online will launch “next year.”

So if it’s anything to go off of, these reports are really starting to add up. But of course it’s not official until Rockstar or Take-Two shouts it from the rooftops.
