Deadlock Adds Violet, a Hero Who Fights With Living Paint

The votes are in! The fifth Deadlock hero arriving in the City Never Sleeps update is Violet! Surprisingly, she managed to snag the fifth spot right out from underneath Nurse Harrow. Violet is already proving to have one of the most creative and expressive kits in the roster so far, which is fitting considering she’s an artist who works with living paint.

Violet Joins Deadlock

New York’s most talented artist, Violet, is officially arriving on the streets of the Cursed Apple, and she’s going to paint the town red, blue, or maybe even purple! She’s packing a very unique kit that allows her to infuse her auto-attacks with living ink. This buff lets her manually control her next few ranged attacks by flicking her mouse. Alternatively, she can brush a line across the battlefield that blocks projectiles and prevents characters from passing through it, although enemies can destroy it with a heavy melee attack.

She can also drag her brush along the ground, creating a path that increases her team’s sliding distance while slowing down enemies. Her third ability allows her to slowly sketch an enemy hero, dealing damage over time until the drawing is complete and culminates in a stun.

Finishing the sketch also grants Violet a small, permanent stat boost based on the character she draws.

Lastly, her ultimate creates a massive circular cage of paint, granting Spirit to all allies inside while revealing enemies. If enemies try to pass through a section of the wall, it silences them, deals Spirit damage, and destroys that section of the wall.

All in all, Violet is easily one of the most creative characters in the Deadlock roster so far. Her ability to paint both the ground and the air around her to create advantages on the battlefield is going to make some serious waves in the coming weeks.
