What Is Wyldheart?
Wyldheart is an upcoming action RPG dungeon crawler from Wayfinder Studios, built for friend groups who can’t get enough of the classic RPG party adventure formula but struggle to find the time for a full-blown DnD campaign. Instead of committing to months of sessions, you can jump into shorter adventures whenever your party has time to play.
Like any great RPG, it all starts with character creation. Build your own humble peasant, complete with a unique background, race, and motives, before setting off on a quest to find one of the ancient Relics of Caerwyn and protect your hometown.
You can play as a proud Freefolk, a little Mossling, a towering Grimhorn, or a stout Stonefolk. With 19 backgrounds and hundreds of customization options, you’ll have plenty of ways to make your character your own.
Your Time, Your Adventure
But character creation is just the beginning! Unlike traditional RPGs that lock you into specific classes, Wyldheart embraces a classless approach to character building. Your weapons, abilities, and skill trees determine how you play, letting you experiment with different combinations to create your perfect adventurer. Invest in flexible skill trees covering Adventuring, Survival, Dungeoneering, Weaponry, and the Oldways of Magic to shape your own playstyle.
Of course, no RPG adventure would be complete without a little dungeon crawling. Wield an arsenal of weapons, including bows, swords, and shields, or harness the power of magic as you take on the dangers lurking throughout Caerwyn.
And there’s plenty to do outside of combat, too! Explore the countryside, meet villagers with their own lives, stories, and daily schedules, and get lost in the scenery. Keep your eyes peeled for clues that unlock new quests, or dig a little deeper to uncover the world’s darker secrets.
You’ll also need to prepare for whatever lies ahead. Gather materials, craft useful items, cook meals for your party, and upgrade your gear before heading back out on your next adventure.
Play With Friends on Your Own Schedule
Wyldheart lets you adventure solo or team up with up to four friends through seamless drop-in, drop-out co-op. With cloud-shared saves, group XP, and scaling difficulty, you can jump in and out of adventures without worrying about leaving your party behind.
Best of all, the game is designed with busy gamers in mind. Each campaign offers around 10 hours of story content, alongside another 15 hours of optional activities and exploration. That’s plenty of adventure without having to commit your entire calendar to a single campaign!
