RuneScape: Dragonwilds Patch 1.0.1 Gives Archers New Tricks

Jagex just dropped its first improvement patch for RuneScape: Dragonwilds since the 1.0 release. This update brings a bunch of new quality-of-life features to the game, including Jump Attacks, a new Ranged Skill Perk, new Ranged Weapon special attacks, and much more.
Dragonwilds Patch 1.0.1

The latest RuneScape: Dragonwilds patch is here, and there’s a bunch of fresh additions arriving in the game today ahead of the big winter update coming in a few months. This patch spices up both combat and general gameplay, so let’s get started.
Firstly, melee users are getting Jump Attacks, which do exactly what you’d expect. However, you’ll need to fall from a height greater than a standard double jump can reach. So, find a nice ledge or use the Windstep spell to crash down on your foes. Plus, you can unlock the brand-new Skill Tree perk “Death From Above!”
Speaking of which, casting spells like Windstep will now be much faster, allowing you to weave them seamlessly into combat.
But one of the biggest changes in this patch is that all ranged bow weapons are getting new special attacks!
- Shortbow: Gains a three-shot Rapid Fire attack, allowing you to unleash a burst of arrows before dodging out of the way.
- Longbow: Gains a slow but powerful Power Shot that staggers a single target from a huge distance while dealing high damage.
- Crossbow: Gains a Heavy Bolt attack, allowing you to load and fire an enhanced bolt for a powerful single shot.
Archers are also getting the new Low Blow Skill Perk. This perk allows ranged attacks that hit enemies in the legs to apply Hamstrung, reducing their movement speed for a short time. However, Tiny and Colossal enemies are immune to this effect.
Quality-of-Life Enhancements
Jagex is also making several quality-of-life improvements to RuneScape: Dragonwilds. For starters, the developers are increasing inventory space from 32 to 40 slots, giving you more room to carry your loot.

They’ve also added a toggle for the Visceral Attack Camera change, giving players more control over how these attacks look during combat.
Finally, you can now track Main, Side, and Task quests directly on your map. The new system lets you track one quest of each type at the same time, with markers showing where you need to go or the general area you need to investigate.
With Patch 1.0.1, Jagex is already adding some welcome improvements to RuneScape: Dragonwilds. These combat changes and quality-of-life updates should make exploring Ashenfall a little smoother while we wait for the upcoming winter update.
