Is Star Wars Zero Company on Game Pass or EA Play?

By Jaymo | 2 Days Ago

When a game releases on Xbox and it comes from EA, the first question is usually: will it be available on Game Pass or EA Play? Star Wars Zero Company is launching on August 27, so you might be wondering if EA’s new turn-based tactics game will be available through Xbox Game Pass or EA Play.

Unfortunately, if you are hoping to play it through a subscription at launch, there is no good news just yet.

Is Star Wars Zero Company on Xbox Game Pass?

No, Star Wars Zero Company has not been announced for Xbox Game Pass at launch.

EA currently lists the game as a full release for Xbox Series X|S alongside its PC and PS5 versions, with pre-orders available through the respective storefronts. There has been no announcement from EA or Xbox confirming that the game will join Game Pass on day one.

That does not necessarily mean it will never come to the service, though.

Game Pass availability can be announced separately from a game’s original release plans, so there is still a possibility that Zero Company could be added at a later date. For now, however, you will need to purchase the game if you want to play it on Xbox at launch.

Is Star Wars Zero Company on EA Play?

The situation is basically the same with EA Play. Despite being published by Electronic Arts, Star Wars Zero Company has not been confirmed as part of EA Play at launch. EA’s official announcement only confirms the game’s August 27 release and pre-orders across PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, without mentioning an EA Play inclusion. And this is worth pointing out because being an EA game does not automatically mean that a new release is available through EA Play on day one.

EA Play has historically been used both for access to a library of games and for benefits around new releases, but a full game being added to the subscription is not something that should be assumed simply because EA publishes it.

Could Star Wars Zero Company Come to Game Pass or EA Play Later?

Absolutely, but keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed yet.

There is a big difference between saying “Zero Company is not coming to Game Pass or EA Play” and saying “Zero Company is not coming to Game Pass or EA Play at launch.” Right now, we only have enough information to make the second statement. It is also not particularly unusual for games to be added to subscription services months after release. Publishers can use these deals to give a game another push after its initial launch window, potentially bringing in a new audience that was not willing to pay full price.

For a single-player game like Zero Company, that could make sense eventually. EA would get another opportunity to put the game in front of players, and Game Pass or EA Play subscribers would have an easy way to discover it.

But that is speculation for now. EA has not announced any plans to bring Star Wars Zero Company to either service.

What About EA Play Pro?

PC players should also be aware that EA Play Pro is a separate, higher-tier subscription from standard EA Play. However, EA has not announced Zero Company as an EA Play Pro launch title either. So, at launch, the situation is pretty simple. Star Wars Zero Company is a paid release on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no confirmed day-one Game Pass, EA Play or EA Play Pro inclusion.

That could change later, but for now, if you are waiting for a subscription release before playing it, there is no date to wait for yet.

Zero Company launches August 27, 2026, putting you in command of an unconventional squad during the final days of the Clone Wars.
