Just before its annual major update, Rust is back with its seasonal Halloween event. But unlike previous years, survivors are getting a lot more than just scares and some extra loot!

Rust’s Halloween Event

Rust’s yearly Halloween Event is now live, bringing back some of the classic features fans have come to expect. The annual Candy Hunt is back, occurring roughly every two in-game days. Players have three minutes to collect as much candy as possible, with the top three players earning special loot bags as a reward.

But there’s more to do this year than just collecting candy. How about building your very own Frankenstein’s monster? That’s right, by slaying the scarecrows and mummies roaming the island, you can collect the various body parts needed to construct your own morbid monstrosity. Once you’ve gathered everything you need, bring your creation to life using the new craftable Frankenstein’s Table and assemble your monster piece by piece.

Once your new pet monster is ready, you can control it by pressing “P”. Your monstrous companion will follow your orders without question, follow you around the map, defend you when you’re attacked, and help you take down any foes you want to target.

The Rifts Open

But that’s not all! Cultists are reportedly opening portals across the island, though little is known about these mysterious rifts or where they lead. According to rumors, only a few brave souls have managed to make it back out alive. What awaits those willing to step through remains a mystery.

Alongside these new events, Rust is also getting a bunch of Halloween-themed skins and customizations to help you get into the spooky spirit. Some of the limited-time store items include:

  • Three wallpapers: Cultist Tile, Manor Ceiling, and Derelict Wood
  • Skull Wall Lamp
  • Halloween Wreath
  • Halloween String Lights
  • Inflatable Alien Costume

But don’t wait too long! The Rust Halloween Event and its limited-time store items will only be available until November 5, so make sure to grab your favorite goodies before they disappear.
