Can You Play GTA 6 on PC? Every Option Explained

GTA 6 is just a month away from release, and while everyone is scrambling to get their hands on the Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, or even the ludicrous $400 Collector’s Box, one big question remains: When, or even if, will we be able to play GTA 6 on PC?
PC… Eventually

One big question on a lot of gamers’ minds is whether GTA 6 will come to PC. The short answer is likely yes, but we still don’t have an official release date. That hasn’t stopped speculation about when the PC version might arrive, especially following comments from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy at the Tokyo Game Show, where he reportedly said GTA VI Online would launch “next year.”
However, as of writing, Rockstar hasn’t confirmed when GTA 6 will make its way to PC. We already know the game is launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, but PC players are still waiting for their turn.
This wouldn’t be anything new for Rockstar. The company has a history of bringing its biggest games to consoles first, then releasing PC versions later. GTA 5 followed a similar path, giving Rockstar more time to focus on its console launch before bringing the game to PC.
With the massive success of GTA Online and the popularity of GTA roleplay servers, a PC release seems like a reasonable expectation. Still, until Rockstar makes an official announcement, PC players will have to wait for confirmation.
…Or Sooner?

There’s another possibility floating around the gaming community, and it’s a much stranger one: what if someone tries to create an unofficial PC version of GTA 6 using generative AI?
We’ve already seen people experiment with AI tools to recreate games, build knockoffs, and mash together different gaming experiences. As these tools become more accessible, it’s not hard to imagine someone attempting to use them to bring GTA 6 to PC before Rockstar releases an official port.
Of course, that doesn’t mean anyone is close to producing a working version of GTA 6 this way. Recreating a massive open-world game is an enormous technical challenge, and an unofficial attempt could run into serious legal trouble, especially given Rockstar’s history of protecting its intellectual property.
Still, the growing use of generative AI has raised concerns among game developers. Some creators worry that their work could be copied or replicated without permission, potentially allowing knockoffs to appear before the original games even launch.
All in all, let’s hope we hear some official news soon before more AI knockoffs damage the gaming industry further.
