Gray Zone Warfare Rogue Ops Update Brings Major Overhaul to AI, Weapons, & Progression

Gray Zone Warfare is officially back with its fourth major update, Rogue Ops, bringing major overhauls to progression, combat, and exploration. The update introduces a new Hideout system, additional weapons, smarter AI, new locations, and plenty of other changes for players to explore.
New Features

The Rogue Ops update brings a ton of new content, but one of the biggest additions is the Hideout, which introduces an entirely new progression system. Once players reach certain vendor ranks, they can unlock their own Hideout and begin building their operation from the ground up.
Inside the Hideout, players gain access to new activities, including crafting and production. The Laboratory allows players to create medical items and stims, while the Electronics Workshop lets them break down electronic devices for resources.
Rogue Ops also introduces Hacking, giving players another way to bypass certain locks without needing a key or code. This opens up new opportunities to access restricted areas and get their hands on valuable loot.
Players can now create up to four characters across different factions and game modes, giving them more flexibility in how they play. Alongside this change, the seasonal soft wipe is also in effect. Players retain their progression from Update 0.4, including completed tasks, ranks, unlocked apparel, vendor progression, and statistics. However, their equipment, locker contents, and money will be reset.
AI Improvements

Gray Zone Warfare has also received a major AI overhaul that improves enemy behavior both in and out of combat. When enemies aren’t fighting, players might spot them drinking, checking their phones, or going about their daily routines.
Once combat begins, however, players will quickly notice that enemies are much more capable.
- Smarter Combat: AI acquires targets faster, fires its first shot with less hesitation, and switches between targets without breaking off the fight.
- Improved Injury Behavior: Injured NPCs will attempt to treat their wounds when it’s safe, but continue fighting if players are nearby instead of turning their backs.
- Better Use of Cover: Enemies choose more effective positions, spread out instead of crowding behind the same obstacle, and avoid taking unnecessary routes to reach cover.
- More Aggressive Tactics: NPCs will no longer hide behind cover indefinitely. They’ll eventually move to find players, with experienced soldiers acting sooner.
- Grenade Usage: Depending on their faction and rank, some enemies can carry up to three grenades and throw them to flush players out of cover.
Health Changes & New Weapons

The developers also streamlined the health system, making injuries easier to manage during firefights.
- Simplified Healing: Medical items now treat an entire body part at once, allowing players to heal multiple injuries with a single application.
- Reworked Bleeding: Reduced bleeding rates give players more time to fight before treating wounds, with severity depending on the damage and affected body parts.
- Improved Health Screen: Updated symptom icons, new stim buff indicators, and expanded body part tooltips make injuries easier to understand.
- Updated Consumables: Blood bags and drinks now use only the volume needed instead of consuming a full charge.
- Medical Item Quality: Higher-quality medical supplies work faster, with military-grade items outperforming civilian alternatives.
- Craftable Stims: Stims can no longer be purchased from vendors and must now be crafted.
As for weapons, Rogue Ops adds seven new firearms to the game:
- Benelli M4
- FAMAS
- G3
- G36
- Glock 18C
- Steyr AUG
- UMP
Alongside these additions, the developers increased weapon and weapon part durability by 40%. Players can also find rare weapon builds, check out updated weapon camos, and customize their loadouts with more than 370 new weapon parts for both new and existing firearms.
A Massive Update for Gray Zone Warfare
The Rogue Ops update offers more than just new weapons and smarter enemies. The update also adds major new locations and smaller points of interest, more tasks, reworked Combat Outposts, and new smuggling and hunting activities.
Other changes include a more dynamic living world, story-driven sound design, improved audio, new animations, visual upgrades, better lighting, and an overhauled cloud system. The developers have also made changes to the in-game economy, introduced additional anti-cheat measures, and worked on performance and optimization.
With new progression systems, more ways to explore Lamang, and enemies that should provide a much tougher challenge, Rogue Ops gives players plenty of reasons to jump back into Gray Zone Warfare.
