The brand-new massive PvE mode, Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame, is finally here in Marvel Rivals, but fans aren’t exactly happy about it. Instead of releasing two new heroes this season, Marvel Rivals has pushed back a massive new Path to Doomsday event. Despite the delay to give developers more time to polish it, the mode hasn’t been a hit with players.

The Mighty Have Fallen

So far, the reception to this massive 50-player mode, where players face off against Thanos and his enormous army, has been pretty poor. Players are criticizing the mode for being boring, uninteractive, and barely responsive to player input.

Fighting Thanos’s army might sound like an epic battle, but most enemies go down in a few hits, creating the illusion of difficulty without offering much of a challenge. But the biggest disappointment is Thanos himself. Unlike the bosses in Marvel Rivals’ previous Zombie and Vampire PvE modes, Thanos struggles to decide who to attack and rarely poses a real threat to a 50-player lobby.

Players have described the new mode as a slog, with Thanos himself feeling more like a giant bullet sponge than a formidable boss. To make matters worse, the fight ends abruptly with a recreation of Iron Man’s iconic sacrifice from Avengers: Endgame, leaving the experience feeling more underwhelming than epic.

Meanwhile, Deadlock’s popularity keeps rising after its massive City Never Sleeps update, drawing more players into the Cursed Apple. Marvel Rivals’ latest PvE mode, on the other hand, seems to be pushing players away rather than bringing them back. With complaints about its quality and lack of replayability piling up, this massive Avengers crossover might not be the comeback moment the developers were hoping for.
