Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps Adds a New Cursed Shop

Deadlock’s City Never Sleeps Update is really shaking up the entire state of the game. Not only do we have another 6 heroes to vote on, but the Cursed Apple just got a massive revamp with new locations, items, and more. We also have an update to the shop and a brand new cursed one as well.

The Broker

This Deadlock update brings a brand-new merchant to the game: the Broker. This creepy lad is selling all those wonderful, dangerous, and very illegal items to the denizens of the Cursed Apple. Everyone wants power, and the Broker offers it for a price.

During your games, the Broker opens his shop once the match hits the 30-minute mark. Seeking him out lets you turn your already purchased items into Corrupted variants. These Corrupted items give your normal items a massive power boost at the cost of a negative downside. This downside is somewhat random, but thankfully you can view the effects before you make your purchase.

So, for example, you can give him your Rapid Recharge. Corrupting it will possibly grant you more ability charges, faster recharge time, and more Spirit Power and CDR. But the random debuff you could get is that you lose Stamina and some Stamina Regen.

Ultimately, it’s your choice, and the same upsides and downsides apply to everyone in the match, based on the item. So the upgrades and downgrades will differentiate between games. But thankfully, this doesn’t mean that if 4 people Corrupt their Rapid Recharge, everyone gets the same nerfs and buffs.

However, this new shop might not be around for long. The official page says that, firstly, he can pop up in any of the 4 new districts. And also, he might disappear from New York once the first new hero makes their arrival.

So much of the community is guessing his brand-new shop will only be around for three days. Or perhaps there is yet another reveal coming for the Broker soon.

Quality of Life Shop Updates

As for the normal shop, a brand-new section is available via the Popular Items tab. This part of the store shows what items are popular for the hero you are currently playing as. Plus, it auto-updates with the meta changes based on global stats, and it even shows you at what stage of the game that particular item is bought, so you know what’s a good early-game vs. mid-game item.

There is also a new Item Filter setting you can use to browse through all the items that just have a particular stat you need. They also updated the build browser for better previews and easier build copy/pasting.
