GTA 6 First TV Ad: What Changed From the Launch Trailer?

Rockstar Games is ramping up its GTA 6 marketing campaign, with its first TV commercial airing during the NBA game between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers on October 20. While the ad mostly reuses footage from the original launch trailer, fans have already spotted several differences.
GTA 6 TV Ad Cuts Shower Scenes

One thing that was immediately apparent for GTA fans who have seen the original launch trailer once, or even multiple times, is that this new commercial removes two brief moments featuring Jason and Lucia in the shower.
This includes a shot of the pair kissing and another showing Lucia’s ankle monitor. The first shower shot remains, but the more intimate moments didn’t make the final cut.
Several Scenes Are Longer
The TV ad also extends a few moments from the original trailer, giving fans extra frames to examine.
These include Lucia jumping toward an airplane’s landing gear, Jason playfully nudging Lucia beside their car, Raul Bautista dancing, Jason reaching for a knife, and Roxy dancing.
The first GTA 6 commercial aired on NBC Sports, featuring the launch trailer but with some changes:

– Cut shower shots, resulting in other shots being a bit longer
– Longer plane shot
– Longer Jason and Lucia shot
– Xbox logo completely removed due to the deal with PlayStation pic.twitter.com/o6qc4dGZab
None of these changes reveal major story details, but they’re still worth a closer look for fans searching for every new glimpse of Vice City.
Xbox Branding Is Missing
Another noticeable difference appears at the end of the commercial, where the Xbox Series X|S logo is absent. Some fans suspect this relates to Rockstar’s PlayStation marketing partnership, but it’s likely because this new trailer footage was captured exclusively on the PS5, which is stated at the bottom of the trailer.
GTA 6 remains scheduled to launch on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026, so the missing logo doesn’t change the game’s confirmed platforms.
