The Coalition has dropped a brand-new cinematic trailer for Gears of War: E-Day, giving fans a darker and more heartbreaking look at the city of Sera during the infamous Emergence Day.

The latest Gears of War: E-Day trailer gives fans a brief glimpse at a familiar yet deeply tragic side of the Gears universe. While previous gameplay trailers have showcased the chaos, panic, horror, and brutal combat of Emergence Day, this new trailer takes a much more personal approach.

Instead of focusing on the soldiers fighting back against the Locust, we get to see the devastation through the eyes of ordinary civilians. Families and terrified survivors desperately hide beneath the surface as the Locust Swarm begins bursting through the ground above them.

It’s a grim reminder of just how devastating Emergence Day truly was. The Gears franchise has never shied away from its brutal combat and over-the-top gore. Its stories have always been grounded by a strong sense of tragedy.
