BALL x PIT Risen Ballbylon Is the Game’s Biggest Update Yet

BALL x PIT is back with its first-ever paid DLC, and it’s coming just one month after the game’s massive Naturalist Update. The Risen Ballbylon Update is shaping up to be the game’s biggest and most transformative update yet, bringing a ton of new content for players to dig into.

Since BALL x PIT launched over a year ago, the game has sold more than 2 million copies, received three major post-launch updates, and added plenty of extra content. As the developers explained with the Naturalist Update, future major updates would move to a paid DLC model. Now, players can see exactly what that $6.99 price tag is getting them.

Risen Ballbylon will introduce four brand-new battlefields, each featuring its own boss, alongside more than 40 new enemies to fight. That’s not all; the DLC also adds eight new characters, each bringing their own gameplay-changing abilities to the table.

Some of these include the Sentinel, who can aim in any direction, and the Stonewaller, whose balls warp to the opposite side of the battlefield the first time they hit a wall. Then there’s the Right Hand Man, whose balls deal double damage when they hit the right wall but only half damage when they hit the left.

On top of all that, Risen Ballbylon is adding 24 new balls for players to experiment with. The Beast Ball latches onto enemies and keeps dealing damage until they die, while the Kaiju Ball can trigger earthquakes. There’s also the Misfortune Ball, which curses enemies, and the deadly Hedgehog Ball, covered in spikes.

Finally, base building is getting a major expansion of its own. Players can construct 20 new buildings to expand their village, with some structures introducing Crystals, a brand-new resource that adds another layer of complexity to the game’s economy.

The BALL x PIT: Risen Ballbylon DLC launches on November 12 across all platforms for $6.99. With everything packed into this update, it already looks like it’ll be well worth the price.
