Valheim 1.0 Celebrates Years of Viking Adventures
By EncampedWeevil | Today at 3:10amWe are just a few days away from the release of Valheim 1.0, the Deep North update. As everyone around the world is preparing for this monumental, or some would even say historical, event, the developers have released another video, commemorating not just their journey with the game, but also some community members’ journeys.
A Viking’s Journey
Valheim has been in development for a long time. Since February of 2021, the game caught on like wildfire, with millions of copies selling out in a month’s time. Not even the developers expected the game’s sheer popularity. Since then, that same team has been at work, slowly fleshing out and carving the remaining biomes and distinct lands in Valheim.
From the Mistlands to the Ashlands, and now finally the Deep North, it’s been a long journey. Throughout this time, the developers and community have both found common ground in realizing that this game means a lot to everyone. From meeting new people, forging friendships, and embarking on new playthroughs that brought new memories.
Valheim is special. It’s more than just a cozy and amazing survival crafting game. Something about its magical pull brings people together, and it has quickly cemented itself as a favorite title for many players.
This new trailer reflects a lot, both from the developers and many community members and content creators.
Now with the Deep North on the horizon, Valheim’s early access is coming to an end. But as to what the future holds, hardly anyone knows. From the advertisements alone, many are gathering that this might be Valheim’s final content update, as the story nears its conclusion.
Yet millions of fans still want more content. More seas to sail, more lands to explore, and many are willing to drop money on paid DLC to keep that engine running, since every single update during early access has been free.
But for now, only time will tell what the future holds for what is potentially one of the greatest survival crafting games of all time.
