Ananta’s Fame System Will Unlock New Locations and Companions
By Jaymo | Today at 5:13pmAnanta’s Go Viral system might be a lot more important than it initially seemed. In case you did not know, the game has an entire system built around social media and gaining a sort of reputation through it. In a new developer interview, the team explained that the game’s fame and follower system is not simply there as a social media gimmick. Your reputation can even affect how you progress through the world.
🚨 ANANTA’S “GO VIRAL” SYSTEM CAN ACTUALLY EXPAND YOUR WORLD

In a fresh developer interview, the team explained that ANANTA’s fame/follower system is much deeper than just a social media gimmick.
As your reputation grows, you can:
✅ Unlock access to more locations
✅ Meet more… pic.twitter.com/GIaarndoAp
Basically, as your fame grows, you will be able to unlock new locations, meet potential companions, expand your team, and progress through different character-specific lifestyles. So you should really go out of your way to build your “Instagram” or “TikTok” profile in-game. For those who do not like social media, it seems like you are not going to escape this one. At least not if you really want to unlock everything. For now, there is no information that indicates that you can unlock all of these by any means other than building your fame up.
And what is particularly interesting is that not every character builds their reputation in the same way. For example, a truck driver can become more famous by completing deliveries, but a police officer can build their reputation by catching criminals. So even if combat and traditional character progression are obviously going to be important in Ananta, they are not the only way to move forward. What you do with your life in the city can open up more of the game. That is a pretty cool idea, especially for an open-world game that is clearly trying to make its city feel like more than just a giant playground for combat.
It also means that different characters could potentially have very different paths to progression depending on their lifestyle and what they do in the world. This Go Viral system is one of the more interesting examples of that so far, and it will be interesting to test all that once the game is live in January 2027!
