The Blood of Dawnwalker Players Want More Vampire Lore

By Jaymo | 3 Days Ago

The Blood of Dawnwalker has one really big problem. We need more of it. Yes, this is a problem in itself. Where are the books, comics, and additional content that give you more of this amazing world and its much larger history? The game has only been out for a few days, and we are not the only ones who are already asking for more.

This is just one single post among many, but it looks like players need more lore about the Vrakhiri.

Who Are the Vrakhiri

In Dawnwalker, you play as a Vrakhiri, but Coen is a bit of a… “failure”. You did not really turn into a full Vrakhiri, but you are a Dawnwalker, and that means you only turn at night. But the real Vrakhiri are different, and there is so much we just do not know yet about them.

Who was the first Vrakhiri? Who was the first Dawnwalker? What the hell happened over all those centuries?

The game takes place in a dark fantasy version of 14th-century Europe (AD 1347) during the Black Death, in a small valley called Vale Sangora. The Vrakhiri are an ancient vampire faction that rules over this valley. They are led by Brencis, a vampire originally born in AD 131, and he has 3 powerful lieutenants:

  • Xanthe: The oldest of the group, a former Ancient Greek priestess with dark secrets regarding her mortality and family
  • Bakir: A cruel, bloodthirsty warmonger who spent centuries pillaging Central Asia
  • Ambrus: The youngest who wants to prove himself, but that might end up regretting his actions depending on the choices you make

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, really. The Blood of Dawnwalker has so much lore hidden throughout the world. You can find documents, books, and other pieces of information that reveal more about Vale Sangora, the Vrakhiri, and a ton of characters you encounter on your journey. The more you read through each document, the more you understand that the Vrakhiri have histories stretching across different centuries, civilizations, and cultures. They did not just appear in Vale Sangora, they existed way before. And when you reach the ending, you also realise that they will live on past that as well.

Please Give Us More of Vale Sangora and the Vrakhiri

There is clearly a much bigger world hiding behind what we see in the game, and players are now curious about all the stuff that happened before Coen’s story ever began. A book or comic series exploring the history of the Vrakhiri could honestly be a pretty cool way to expand that world without needing another full game. And if Rebel Wolves eventually decides to make DLC, there are clearly plenty of stories they could tell.

For now, though, we are left digging through every document we can find and wondering just how much vampire lore is still hiding in the shadows.
