Valheim 1.0 Draws 168K Players on Launch Day

With the release of Valheim 1.0, the Steam charts are already beginning to skyrocket. Players have been looking forward to the Deep North update for nearly 5 years. But with the wait finally over, thousands of Vikings are rushing back to their old homes or jumping into a fresh playthrough.

The Cold is Calling

After 5 years of being in early access, Valheim 1.0 is finally here. From the beginning, players have had a rough idea of where the developers wanted to take the game. Especially since Mistlands, we’ve known our adventure would eventually lead us south to the Ashlands, and now to the frozen Deep North.

Day one is already showcasing some impressive numbers on Steam alone, with 168,093 players logging in on day one.

Naturally, this reflects only Steam’s numbers, and it’s important to remember that thousands of other Vikings are playing on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Plus, this is only day one, and it’s the middle of the week. Who knows what numbers we will see when the weekend rolls around.
