The Blood of Dawnwalker Update Fixes Quest Blockers and More

By Jaymo | Yesterday

The Blood of Dawnwalker has received another hotfix that was released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, so make sure you update your game before playing today. This update focuses mostly on stability and progression issues, including some bugs that could prevent you from completing quests or even saving your game. So it is quite an important one this time!

There are a few fixes included, so if you have run into something weird during your playthrough, there is a chance 1.0.4 has taken care of it!

Quest Progression Issues Fixed

The most important part of this update is probably the number of quests that have received fixes in this update. No more getting stuck in a cave during the “Deep Down” quest, and “On the Run” should no longer cause an infinite loading screen.

The update also fixes the following quest-related problems that you might have encountered:

  • Ocha will no longer attack Coen when attacked by guards.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Coen to get stuck in a cave in the “Deep Down” quest.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Murohn to not spawn under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue that caused one of the possible solutions for the “Hive and Seek” quest to end prematurely.
  • Progressing the “On the Run” quest no longer causes infinite loading.
  • “A Lone Wolf’s Hunt” now appropriately shows the difficulty level.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a soft-lock after following Sara.
  • Investigating the rag is now optional in the “Smoke and Ashes” quest.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a blocker in “The Heart Wants What It Wants” quest.

Saving Should No Longer Be Blocked

This one is also a really important fix in the update, since there was apparently a bug that could prevent you from saving your game. I did not personally encounter that one, but in case you did, you can now be at peace since it should not happen anymore. Rebel Wolves also made adjustments to controller dead zones and input issues that could happen when you are sprinting. On Steam, connecting a controller using outdated GameInput software should no longer cause FPS drops either.

And, thankfully, torches can no longer grow uncontrollably. Yes, that was apparently a thing. Meanwhile, I did not even realise we could carry the torches and use them…

More Stability and Visual Fixes

Hotfix 1.0.4 also includes multiple general stability improvements, along with a few smaller fixes. Coen and Iorgu should now drink from their cups even when using low graphical settings, and an incorrectly used red pipe asset has been removed. Music should also no longer randomly stop playing during the prologue. On PC, an issue with VSync when using FSR Frame Generation has been fixed, and Quality preset mods should now apply properly.

Overall, this is another pretty useful patch for The Blood of Dawnwalker, especially for anyone who has been dealing with quest progression or saving problems during their playthrough.
