SPRAWL Zero Finally Gets a Release Date

The action-packed FPS SPRAWL Zero has officially announced its release date: September 8th, 2026. So, mark your calendars, because based on how the demo feels and the direction development is taking, we might have a truly revolutionary FPS on our hands.

SPRAWL Zero, the sequel to the hit retro Y2K-inspired FPS SPRAWL, is finally getting ready to launch, and we cannot express how excited we are. For those unfamiliar, SPRAWL Zero is a fast-paced shooter inspired by the Golden Age of 2000s FPS games, taking notes from classics like the original FEAR games and early Halo titles.

What makes SPRAWL Zero so compelling is how flawlessly it captures that early-2000s era of gaming. From its art direction and soundtrack to its movement, gunplay, and environmental details, everything feels carefully crafted to recreate that distinct era of FPS games.

The developers have also been incredibly open about the game’s development, but if there is one thing we’re especially excited about, it’s the enemy AI.

Few games have ever managed to make enemy AI move, react, and predict the player’s actions quite like the original FEAR. Enemies wouldn’t blindly charge at you; they’d assess the situation. If they didn’t have the numbers, they might hold back, while enemies could attempt to flush you out, flank your position, or force you out of cover if you stayed in one spot for too long.

SPRAWL Zero is taking plenty of notes from this approach and implementing its own version of intelligent enemy AI. We’ve already got a small taste of what the developers are cooking, and it could end up being one of the game’s biggest strengths.
