Nailcrown Might Be the Goriest Boomer Shooter Yet

Gamescom and the Future Games Show were packed with new reveals. With so many games showcased, it’s easy for some of the more interesting projects to slip under the radar. One game you might have missed is Nailcrown, an upcoming dark-fantasy boomer shooter that brings fast-paced gunplay, brutal melee combat, and a truly ridiculous amount of gore.

What is Nailcrown?

Nailcrown is a savage boomer shooter that combines frantic gunplay with brutal & bloody melee combat. While its grim and grotesque art style immediately helps it stand out, the game’s biggest selling point is arguably its dynamic gore system. You can bash, maim, and tear apart your enemies in a variety of increasingly brutal ways, making every encounter an absolute bloodbath.

You’ll run and gun through foul medieval hellscapes either alone or in co-op, tearing your way through trolls, ghouls, minotaurs, and plenty of other horrifying creatures as you work toward your ultimate goal. Nailcrown embraces the old-school boomer-shooter formula, but it doesn’t stop at the traditional campaign. The game will also feature classic multiplayer modes, including Free-for-All and Team Deathmatch.

Naturally, you’ll have plenty of weapons to choose from when it’s time to start massacring your enemies. Nailcrown features classic firearms like nailguns and shotguns alongside more unusual weapons, such as the Lightning Impaler. If guns aren’t quite personal enough for you, you can always get up close and personal with a razor-sharp sword or a skull-crushing warhammer.

You’ll also want to keep your eyes open as you explore each hellish environment. Search the dark corners of the world for hidden secrets, discover shrines, and use them to improve your character. You’ll also be able to find upgrades for your weapons, making your already-deadly arsenal even more powerful.
