Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 May Be in Development at Insomniac
By Jaymo | Today at 3:00pmThe hype around Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man series is once again reaching pretty ridiculous levels thanks to Brand New Day that is currently still running in theaters, and now we may have our first real indication that the next main game is in production. A Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 page has appeared on IMDb, with the game listed as in production and a few familiar names attached to the project.
Of course, this is not quite the same as Sony or Insomniac officially announcing the game, so it should still be treated with a little caution. It is also good to note that any registered user can technically create such a page on IMDb, so this might not even be official. But the listing is interesting enough to point it out because the information also fits with previous leaks.
Spider-Man 3 Has Apparently Entered Production
The IMDb listing credits Bryan Intihar and Ryan Smith as game directors, and both worked on the previous Marvel’s Spider-Man games. Even more interestingly, Yuri Lowenthal is listed as returning as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. As mentioned, this listing has reportedly appeared on both IMDb’s regular database and IMDb Pro, and its latest entry dates back to January 2026. Most importantly, the project is listed as being in production and not pre-production.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 has shown up on IMDb Pro (both paid and free versions) and the IMDb database. The last official entry was in January 2026, confirming the title is in production and not pre production.

That does not tell us when the game could be released, but if real, it would suggest that Insomniac’s next Spider-Man project is already well beyond the simple concept stage.
The Timing Makes Sense
The timing is particularly interesting. A leak from 2023 already suggested that the studio had plans for both Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 and a Marvel’s Venom spin-off, but none of those have been officially confirmed at the time. The Venom project was reportedly intended to follow the same kind of approach as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, so focused on another character from the Spider-Man universe.
There has also been some teasing from Yuri Lowenthal himself, who hinted at Peter Parker’s return earlier this year.
A third main Spider-Man game is hardly a shocking possibility. When we know how well the other two games did, it is pretty much logical that they would try to do a 3rd game. The first Marvel’s Spider-Man became one of PlayStation’s biggest first-party successes, and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continued the story. With the characters and universe already established, another sequel would make plenty of sense for Insomniac. And with the recent success and renewed attention around the Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, the timing certainly is not bad for the franchise either.
For now, though, you should not expect a sudden Spider-Man 3 announcement just because of an IMDb listing, especially since it could not be an official listing. But the timing certainly makes it worth mentioning. Considering Marvel’s Wolverine is only a few weeks away from release, however, it might not be too long before we start getting a better idea of what is next for Insomniac’s Marvel universe.
