Gorr the God Butcher Joins Marvel Rivals Season 10

Marvel Rivals is back with a first look at Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy, and the God Butcher himself is joining the roster. Gorr, the God Butcher, is bringing the power of All-Black, the Necrosword, to the battlefield as his dark crusade takes him from the would-be gods of Thebes to Yggsgard.

Gorr Carves into Marvel Rivals

The God Butcher is the newest Duelist joining the Marvel Rivals roster. He is a brutal close-quarters fighter who can summon shadow projections, command them to attack nearby heroes, and even teleport directly to them. Based on his gameplay trailer, Gorr also appears to have an incredibly strong blink ability that could rival, or potentially even surpass, Hela’s.

His Necrosword can also transform into a scythe, giving Gorr four empowered swings that appear to deal additional damage while potentially boasting a larger hitbox.

Interestingly, Gorr’s ultimate is far less flashy than the rest of his kit. Rather than unleashing a massive attack, it temporarily puts him into an empowered state, allowing him to ramp up his damage and tear through enemies at close range. This could make him particularly dangerous against tightly grouped teams.

Perhaps the biggest surprise, however, is that Gorr will be the only new hero coming with Marvel Rivals Season 10. Unlike previous seasons that introduced two new heroes, the developers are shifting more of their focus toward the upcoming Path to Doomsday events instead of adding a second character to the roster.
