Final Fantasy VII Is Coming to Nintendo Switch 2

And if you do not want to wait until next year for more FF7, there is some good news there too, because Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion is also available on Nintendo Switch 2 starting today.
Yes, you read that right, you can get it today already, and Crisis Core is really one of the best games to play on a handheld console since it was first released on the PSP.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Is Coming to Switch 2
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 at the same time as on the other platforms. This means no specific exclusivity and no delay for the Switch release this time either. You can enjoy the last part of the Remake at the same time as everyone else.
The game will launch on April 8, 2027, and follows directly the events of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. We have already seen quite a bit of Revelation over the past few months, including the huge open world, the return of the Highwind, new traversal options, and plenty of familiar faces.
For Switch 2, this means that the entire modern Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is making its way onto Nintendo’s latest console. And that is a pretty big deal.
24-Hour Early Access
Square Enix is also offering 24-hour early access for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, but this is not included with the Standard Edition. The early-access period is exclusive to the Premium and Premium Plus Editions. So if you are planning to pre-order the game digitally on Switch 2 specifically because you want to play it a day early, you will need one of those editions.
Other platforms get the same early access, so this is also nothing exclusive to the Switch 2. There is also a slightly confusing bit of information for anyone who already pre-ordered the Standard Edition. Nintendo and Square Enix say that those who pre-ordered the Standard Edition digitally need to cancel that pre-order before payment is processed, and then pre-order either the Premium or Premium Plus Edition to receive the 24-hour Early Access bonus.
The Premium editions also include additional in-game bonuses, and Premium Plus comes with extras such as a digital art book and mini soundtrack.
Crisis Core Reunion Is Available Today
But you do not have to wait until April 2027 to get more Final Fantasy 7 on Switch 2. Crisis Core Reunion is available on Nintendo Switch 2 later today. The game is an HD remaster of the original Crisis Core and follows Zack Fair before the events of Final Fantasy 7. It features remastered visuals, fully voiced dialogue, a newly arranged soundtrack, and updated gameplay.
So if you have already played Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth on Switch 2 and you are looking for something else from the FF7 universe before Revelation, Crisis Core is now another option. And as I already mentioned earlier, it is a game that fits very well on handheld consoles, so pretty much perfect for your Switch 2. The gameplay for Crisis Core is quite different compared to the base game as well.
And there is still a long wait for Revelation, but at least Switch 2 players have another FF7 adventure to jump into right now!
