Brutal Legend 2 Could Finally Happen

Recently, Double Fine Productions launched a brand-new Kickstarter campaign to help the freshly independent studio continue making games. The campaign features 26 different game ideas, but there’s one in particular that immediately stands out above the rest. One of the campaign’s final stretch goals could finally bring fans a long-awaited sequel to Brutal Legend.

That’s right. One of the biggest stretch goals for the Amnesia Fortnight Kickstarter campaign is Brutal Legend 2, potentially bringing back one of Double Fine’s most beloved games and its unique blend of heavy metal, action, strategy, and humor.

Brutal Legend has become a hard rock and metal classic since its release, featuring a star-studded cast of musicians and metal legends, many of whom are sadly no longer with us. A sequel has been something fans have wanted for years, making its appearance as a potential stretch goal especially exciting.

There’s already plenty of attention surrounding the campaign, and with 26 different game pitches on the table, fans have plenty of reasons to get involved. Double Fine’s Amnesia Fortnight tradition has previously helped turn smaller game ideas into full releases, including Costume Quest, Stacking, and Iron Brigade.

The campaign officially launched on August 31 and is running through most of September, giving fans plenty of time to help Double Fine bring some of these ideas to life.
