Silent Hill 2 Receives New PS5 Update Focused on Performance

By Jaymo | 5 Days Ago

In case you missed it, Silent Hill 2 just got a new update on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. This patch improves performance for both the Performance Mode and the Quality Mode on the console! Patch 1.07 was released on August 6 and basically focuses on making the game run much better with improved graphics and environmental elements, especially the spooky fog.

As mentioned, the update improves performance in both Performance Mode and Quality Mode, and this means that you now have a better experience regardless of your preferred graphics settings. The patch also introduces a few visual improvements, including:

  • Improved fog visuals
  • Better overall image quality
  • Fixed visual glitches on various assets
  • Reduced visual artifacts that could appear while moving
  • Additional bug fixes

Check Your Game Version

This is a free update, of course, and you can check if it has been installed properly by taking a look at the version number displayed in the bottom-right corner of the title screen when your game is open. If it reads v1.0.7, you are good to go, and if not, check under the downloads of your PS5 if there is any patch remaining.

This update does not add any new content, but it is always nice to see developers care enough to still update and improve the overall performance of their game, even years after launch!
