Petit Planet Gets Winter 2026 Release Window and Final Beta Date

After the pretty cool monster-hunting action game, HoYoverse has revealed something a little different during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Instead of another RPG with a huge open world, Petit Planet is a cozy life-sim adventure focused on exploration, customization, friendship, and simply spending time in a colorful world filled with adorable creatures.

And we now know when we will be able to play it!

Petit Planet Launches in Winter 2026

The good news is that we do not have to wait indefinitely to find out what Petit Planet is all about. The game is currently scheduled to launch in Winter 2026. For now, it is still in development, and HoYoverse has made it clear that the content shown during the current test does not necessarily represent the quality of the final release.

And before that happens, you will get another opportunity to try the game.

The Final Beta Starts September 20

HoYoverse has announced that the final beta test for Petit Planet begins on September 20, with sign-ups already open.

The beta should allow you to try the game’s exploration, social, and customization systems before the full release. So if Petit Planet caught your attention during the Gamescom showcase, this is probably the best opportunity to get your hands on it before launch. Of course, not everyone will be able to test it, but it is worth signing up. You never know what could happen!

Pre-Registration Rewards Are Also Available

HoYoverse is also offering rewards for everyone who pre-registers for Petit Planet. The current rewards include the Bestie Star-Light and the Sproutling Outfit Set, with additional rewards linked to pre-registration milestones.

The campaign is already halfway through its milestone track, but there is still a long way to go before we reach the Sprouting Outfit, so go register! We need to hit 10 million players, and everyone will receive it. That is obviously a pretty ambitious milestone, but considering the size of HoYoverse’s existing player base, it will be interesting to see how far the campaign gets before launch.

A Much Cozier HoYoverse Experience

Petit Planet is definitely an interesting change of direction for HoYoverse. No more heavy combat or farming for artefacts for hours. This time, you will be farming fish, crops, food, and visiting other players’ planets in search of customisation options for your own! The studio seems to be going after the audience that enjoys slower-paced exploration, customization, collecting, and hanging out with cute virtual friends.

Of course, there is still a lot we do not know about the game, and the game is still in development, so a lot could also still change. But with the final beta arriving September 20 and the full game releasing in Winter 2026, we will be able to play the game wrapped up in our blanket with a hot chocolate during the entire winter season.
