Ananta Gets Release Date and New Trailer Showing Cities and Vehicles!

By Jaymo | 2 Days Ago

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 was probably one of the best gaming shows we have had this year, and one of the reasons is that we finally got official news for ANANTA! After giving us another look during Gamescom Opening Night Live, ANANTA has a release date.

The urban open-world RPG from Naked Rain will officially launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, and the game will be free-to-play. ANANTA is coming to PS5, PC, and mobile, with a new launch date trailer showing the two cities we will be able to explore and the number of different vehicles you can drive!

And honestly, there is quite a lot going on. It also seems like the game is really hilarious with its dialogue and all that, and we are all for it! We are definitely going to have to find out why the main character is called “Yeet Master” by everyone…

ANANTA Launches in January 2027

ANANTA will take you to a world built around two big cities:

  • Nova City
  • Chongxiao’s Lingyun City.

The developers describe it as an urban open-world RPG where you can assemble your own team, explore different cities and uncover the mysteries surrounding the world. But the idea is not simply to run around completing missions. The game is also focused on making its cities feel alive, with different activities, characters, and lifestyles to discover.

The two cities are inspired by real-world locations including Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hangzhou, and the devs want to give each area its own identity.

Two Cities With a 24/7 Life

One of the more interesting aspects of ANANTA is how much the developers are going for the idea of a living city. The world is not supposed to simply stop existing when you are not doing a quest. NPCs have their own routines and can be interacted with in different ways, and unexpected events can happen as you are simply walking around.

The developers even gave some pretty bizarre examples, including encountering a toilet with legs running down the street… Yes… Do not ask, it is best not to know why…

And then there is the possibility of suddenly getting caught up in a Chaos event or encountering a much bigger threat. Essentially, you can never be completely sure what you are going to find when you are exploring. And this is going ot be really fun… or really traumatising. But either way, we will definitely love it!

You Can Explore However You Want

Getting around the cities also is not limited to simply running from one objective to another. ANANTA will give you a pretty ridiculous number of ways to move around its world. You can use motorcycles, speedboats, helicopters, wingsuits, and even flying cars, and a ton of other traversal options such as swinging around the city.

So you can choose if you want to stick to the streets or completely ignore them. There should be plenty of ways to get around.

Combat Takes Inspiration From Kung Fu Movies

Combat is another important part of ANANTA. The developers describe its action as being inspired by Kung Fu movies. The environment itself can become part of the fight, with objects around you potentially turning into weapons. That includes things you probably would not normally associate with combat, such as guitars and trash cans.

You can also take weapons from enemies during fights, and that means that you can change your approach depending on what is happening around you. The combat system is built around fast-paced encounters with mechanics such as dodging and blocking, giving you opportunities to counterattack as well, and not simply throwing attacks at enemies.

Become an Influencer and Form Bonds

Probably one of ANANTA’s more unusual systems is its social media and follower system.

You might not be any kind of legendary, super powerful, ultimate hero this time. However, you can build your reputation throughout the city by using social media and gathering followers. Becoming an influencer is a “means rather than the ultimate goal.” Building your reputation can unlock different rewards and benefits, and apparently those followers could eventually help you accomplish something considerably more important than simply becoming popular online.

So yes, apparently saving the world starts with getting followers.

ANANTA is also not just about fighting enemies and exploring the city. You will meet a wide variety of characters and be able to build relationships with them. Since the game has no character gacha, it means that you can meet and play EVERY available character, and develop relationships with them. Depending on who you play, you can spend time together through different activities, such as going out, hanging around, or going on a date.

The game will also feature characters from very different backgrounds, including NCCA officers, hackers, and even gang leaders.

Getting closer to these characters can unlock their own career missions and side quests, allowing you to see different sides of the world depending on who you choose to spend time with.

ANANTA Is Free-to-Play

The biggest question for some players will obviously be how much all of this is going to cost. The good news is that ANANTA will be free-to-play. The game will launch worldwide on January 15, 2027, for PS5, PC, and mobile, and will be free on ALL platforms. Of course, F2P means they need to monetize the game in some way, but this time, the gacha is only based around cosmetics. We do not have many details about this specific aspect yet, but now that we have a release date, it should come pretty soon!

ANANTA is certainly going pretty big with its combination of an urban open world, fast-paced combat, vehicles, social systems, character relationships, and a world that is supposed to keep moving even when you are not following a quest.

We will find out how well all of that comes together when ANANTA launches, so stay tuned!
