1047 Games Ends Development on Splitgate and Empulse

By EncampedWeevil | Today at 12:14am

Suddenly, during the chaotic Day 2 of Gamescom 2026, 1047 Games dropped an update on their upcoming project, Empulse, and their previous game, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. The developers announced that both games are ending active development because neither is generating enough revenue to cover server costs.

The Second End to Splitgate

1047 Games is officially ending active development on both the somewhat controversial Splitgate: Arena Reloaded and their upcoming “Titanfall 2-like” Empulse.

The reality is that neither game is generating enough revenue to support the ongoing cost of dedicated servers. We have continued covering those costs because we wanted to give both games every opportunity to grow, but we have reached the point where that is no longer sustainable.

However, just because the servers are going offline doesn’t mean both games are dead. The developers are making a switch to allow peer-to-peer hositing via a server broswer.

On Thursday, September 3, both games will move to peer-to-peer hosting with a server browser. Dedicated servers and matchmaking will shit down, but players will still be able to host matches, find games, and play with friends forever.

In addition, Empulse is receiving one new map, and its price will drop across all regions, making this last patch the final version.

1047 Games also says its focus is changing, and what they build next may look very different from what people expect from them.
