Steam Choices Matter Festival: Best Deals on Narrative Games
By Jaymo | Today at 10:18amTelltale is teaming up with Steam and other narrative game developers for a special event!
If you are a fan of games where your decisions and choices really matter, there is a pretty good reason to check Steam right now. Telltale is hosting the “Choices Matter Festival,” a new Steam sale focused on narrative or “choice-based” games. You can find a huge selection of titles that got some pretty heavy discounts.
The Festival is running until August 17, so you have a few days to pick up some of these games for very little money.
Obviously, there are far too many games included to list everything here since you can find a little bit over 100 games with reduced prices, but there are some particularly good deals worth checking out! So we put together the games with the best deals that are worth picking up.
Quantic Dream Goes Under €1
The best deal might be coming from Quantic Dream, with both Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls currently available for just €0.99 each. Considering you are getting two complete narrative-focused games for less than the price of a coffee, it is hard to complain about those prices. Both are amazing games, and it is hard to argue against buying them when they cost so little!
These two games are particularly interesting if you like investigation, mysteries, and a lot of action despite it being a narrative game. Both are psychological thrillers where, on one side, you follow a girl on a journey to find where she comes from and why she has powers, and on the other side, you follow four characters on the hunt for a murderer known only as the Origami Killer.
And when it comes to Quantic Dream and narrative games, there is one game that is definitely worth picking up, especially when it only costs €7.99, and it is Detroit: Become Human! There is also an entire bundle available that includes:
- Detroit: Become Human
- Beyond Two Souls
- Heavy Rain
- Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy Remastered

Telltale Games Are Heavily Discounted
Naturally, a Telltale-hosted festival would not be complete if it did not include Telltale Games as well. Most of the studio’s catalog is heavily discounted, with many games costing €10 or less. And yes, that includes some of the studio’s best series, such as:
- The Wolf Among Us
- Batman: The Telltale Series
- Tales from the Borderlands
- The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series
- And plenty more
One of the best deals is arguably The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series, since it includes the complete series and is currently available for around €12. It includes all 4 seasons, but also 400 Days and the Michonne DLC, so over 50 hours of gameplay and 23 episodes in total!
That is a pretty easy recommendation if you have somehow never played Telltale’s The Walking Dead! It is definitely one of their best series!
Other Discounted Games

The Life Is Strange games are also part of the festival, with most of the series currently available for around €20 or less. This also includes the remastered version of the very first Life is Strange for only 7.99 instead of 40! And for those who already played through that, DON’T NOD has a few additional narrative games that are also worth picking up, such as:
- Lost Records
- Gerda
- Twin Mirror
Of course, these are not the only discounted games. Here are some of the best narrative games you can play, and that are definitely worth buying during the sales:
- The Quarry
- Lake
- Killer Frequency
- Esoteric EBB
- Between Horizons
- Zero Parades
- Nobody Wants to Die
- No, I’m Not Human
There are also some much more recent games included in the sale, but their discounts are not quite as extreme. Directive 8020, for example, is currently priced at €39.99, and Life Is Strange: Reunion is available for around €26. So if you are looking for something newer because you already played the older classics, there are still a few options available.

Upcoming Narrative Games Can Also Be Wishlisted
The festival is not only about games that are currently on sale. It also highlights a selection of upcoming choice-based games that are not discounted, of course, since they have not released yet, but can already be wishlisted. You can already take a look at games such as:
- The Expanse: Osiris Reborn
- The Wolf Among Us 2
- Hope in the City
- And more
So even if you have already played most of the games on sale, the festival is also a pretty convenient way to discover some of the upcoming narrative games that are worth keeping an eye on.
The Choices Matter Festival is a really good way to grab narrative games for a good price. Since these games are often rather short, a lot of players miss out on them because they do not want to put over 40 euros in a game that is mostly narrative with choices to make. So discounts like this, focused on those games, mean more players can discover some pretty amazing stories, for a very low price! So take a look at a few of these deals before they disappear!
