I Hear the Forest Is a Bizarre Slow-Burn Horror Game
By EncampedWeevil | YesterdayThere are plenty of brand-new upcoming titles catching attention during the Steam Ukrainian Games Festival, but one game has certainly caught our eye. I Hear the Forest is a thematically bizarre slow-burn psychological horror game where you play as a forest ranger exploring an eerie, seemingly living forest in search of a cure for a mysterious curse.
What is I Hear the Forest?
I Hear the Forest is a game that just popped onto our radar, and it is already pulling us in with its stylized visuals, retro-inspired vibe, and, most importantly, its promise of being a true slow burn.
We always love indie games that invite you into a strange new world and give you the time to get lost in it. Exploring its environments, soaking in the atmosphere, and slowly becoming immersed in its world is always a treat, especially when a game is willing to take its time and really let its themes settle in. I Hear the Forest definitely looks like it could be one of those games.
You play as a cursed forest ranger who must explore a mysterious forest and search for a cure before its hidden horrors consume you. Your goal is to explore the depths of the forest while picking mushrooms, gathering medicinal herbs, brewing potions, fishing, and cooking in hopes of finding a cure.
Of course, this is no ordinary forest. Along the way, you can speak with animals and trees while slowly uncovering the hidden horrors lurking throughout this mystical wilderness.
I Hear the Forest also promises multiple endings based on the choices you make, with each playthrough taking you on a several-hour journey through a thick and lingering atmosphere of fear.
If this sounds like your type of vibe, we definitely recommend wishlisting I Hear the Forest on Steam and following the developer to keep up with future updates.
