Does Star Wars Zero Company Have Multiplayer or Co-Op?
By Jaymo | YesterdayIf you are wondering if STAR WARS Zero Company has multiplayer, the answer is pretty simple: no, it does not.
Despite the game putting a big focus on building and commanding a squad of different Operators, Star Wars Zero Company is strictly a single-player experience. There are no online multiplayer modes, co-op missions, or any competitive PvP. So if you were hoping to team up with a friend and take your squad into the Clone Wars together, unfortunately, that is not possible.
No Co-Op and No PvP?
So as mentioned, no, Star Wars Zero Company does not have co-op either. The entire game is designed around a single player controlling Zero Company. You will decide the Operators you want to bring into battle, where they move, the abilities they use, and how you want to approach each encounter. The fact that you are commanding a squad does not mean each character is controlled by a different player. You are in charge of the entire team. This is also true for the game’s story missions because there is no option to have another player join you and take control of some of your Operators.
And on top of that, there is also no competitive multiplayer or PvP in Star Wars Zero Company. The game’s combat is entirely built around a single-player tactical experience, with you taking on the game’s various enemy factions during the Clone Wars. That means you will not find any type of multiplayer modes such as team deathmatch, ranked battles, or competitive squad-based combat.
Bit Reactor has designed Zero Company as a single-player tactical RPG experience, rather than a game built around multiplayer. That is important because the game’s systems are designed around giving one player control over the entire squad. You are supposed to think about the composition of your team, their abilities, their Bonds, and how they work together. So even if multiplayer would certainly be fun, there is currently no multiplayer component to Star Wars Zero Company because the game was simply not made for that.
What Can You Do in Star Wars Zero Company?

Even if there is no multiplayer, you still have quite a bit to manage as a solo player! The game revolves around building your own version of Zero Company, with different characters and customizable Operators. You will spend your time across three main parts of the game.
- Solo Campaign
The main campaign follows Hawks, a former Republic officer who leads Zero Company during the final stages of the Clone Wars. You will take the squad through a 30 to 40h long story-driven campaign where you have to make decisions about the Operators you want to bring into different missions.
And yes, you read that right, the campaign is expected to take around 30 to 40 hours for the average player, depending on difficulty and experience with strategy games.
- Turn-Based Tactical Combat
The actual missions are built around traditional turn-based tactics. You will position your Operators, use cover, take advantage of situations, and combine abilities to deal with the various threats on the battlefield. The game also gives you plenty of freedom when building your squad. You can customize Operators, experiment with different weapons and abilities, and develop Bonds between characters to unlock additional combat synergies.
And yes, you can eventually create some pretty unusual squads. You can unlock Clone Troopers and build a full Clone Trooper team, and Astromechs can also fill your squad once they are unlocked.
- The Den
Between missions, you will return to The Den, your base of operations.
This is where you will manage your Operators, upgrade equipment, recruit new characters, and develop relationships within the squad. You will also make strategic decisions through the Galaxy Map, with Operations offering additional rewards, story events, and other opportunities before heading into your next Tactical Mission.
Will Multiplayer Be Added Later?
There is no announced plan for multiplayer or co-op for the time being, and I would not necessarily expect any. Bit Reactor has also said they currently have nothing to announce regarding DLC or post-launch content, so there is no indication that multiplayer is being planned for a future update. For now, it is best to treat Star Wars Zero Company as what it was designed to be: a single-player, turn-based Star Wars tactics game.
If you are looking for a Star Wars game you can play with friends, this unfortunately is not it. But if you are happy taking control of an entire squad yourself, Zero Company is built specifically around that experience!
