Waste The Fallen Playtest Begins September 4

By EncampedWeevil | Aug 15, 2026

Another upcoming extraction shooter is gearing up to take the world by storm, and this one is bringing plenty of horror along for the ride. Waste The Fallen is a free-to-play multiplayer horror looter shooter that throws you and your friends into a brutal, decaying world filled with valuable loot, terrifying creatures, and plenty of ways for a run to go horribly wrong.

Players in North America won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on the game. Starting September 4, the upcoming playtest will give players the chance to step into this hostile world, scavenge for resources, battle the Fallen, gather valuable loot, and try to make it out alive.

Waste The Fallen Playtest

In Waste The Fallen, every trip into the wasteland is a gamble. Players will drop into forsaken, decaying zones and search for everything they can carry, including weapons, useful materials, and rare loot scattered across multiple maps. Finding the good stuff is only half the battle, though. Once you’ve loaded up your inventory, you’ll still need to survive long enough to escape with it.

No two runs are meant to play out exactly the same. Different Deviants, shifting enemy movement patterns, and environmental threats can force players to adapt on the fly. The deeper you venture into these decaying environments, the more valuable the loot becomes, but every step forward also brings increasingly deadly threats.

Beyond its gritty visuals and dark horror atmosphere, one of the features that immediately caught our attention is the game’s approach to building your home base. Waste The Fallen doesn’t simply hand players a pre-built hideout to fill with upgraded crafting stations and unlocked blueprints. Instead, you’ll actually be able to build and shape your hideout yourself.

Overall, Waste The Fallen is shaping up to be an interesting addition to the extraction shooter genre. Players in North America can jump into the playtest starting September 4.
