Risk of Rain 2 Is Finally Making Mithrix Harder

The Risk of Rain devs are back surprisingly early with a final extra round of information about the upcoming Hallowed Concepts DLC. This time, they’re talking not only about what’s coming in the DLC itself, but also a free update alongside it.
Everything in Hallowed Concepts

For a quick recap of everything arriving in the Hallowed Concepts DLC for Risk of Rain 2:
Two new Survivors are arriving: The Enforcer & The Acolyte. Several new trial stages, which are unique mid-run challenges. A handful of brand new items, including Hexes, which negatively affect your character until you can cleanse them, turning them into the new Hollowed Items.
There are three new standard stages arriving with three new bosses, four new enemies, a new Elite type, new unlockable Survivor skins, and of course a new soundtrack, and much more.
The Free Update
Alongside this DLC, Risk of Rain 2 is also getting a free update which will add a bunch of new skills to a handful of older Survivors. The vanilla game is also getting a brand-new system: the Karma system.
While we don’t know the exact details of this new system yet, we do know that if you achieve certain milestones during your run, you will earn Karma. The more Karma you stack, the harder your final encounter with Mithrix will be. The community is already rejoicing, as Mithrix, for the most part, has been pretty easy to beat compared to other bosses.
So with the Karma system, if you max it out, you will basically be fighting Mithrix on his long awaited Umbral difficulty. Complete with more power scaling, new moves, and a lot more.
More details surrounding the DLC’s eventual release will drop on October 8th.
