Overwatch Season 4 Release Date and Time, Map Reworks, and More

By Jaymo | Yesterday

Overwatch Season 4 is almost here, since it literally launches tomorrow, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Blizzard has not officially announced the exact launch time on its social media channels yet, but if we look at the current Season 3 Battle Pass countdown, we can pretty much estimate around what time the new season will launch. It also matches the launch time used for previous seasons, so you should expect Season 4 to go live at around 8 PM CEST on August 11.

And since this is a new update, we also have a short recap of everything coming with Season 4!

Overwatch Season 4 Start Time

Season 4 is starting on August 11 at the following times:

  • 11 AM PDT
  • 2 PM EDT
  • 3 PM BRT
  • 7 PM BST
  • 8 PM CEST
  • 3 AM JST (August 12)
  • 4 AM AEST (August 12)

Again, these times have not been officially confirmed by Blizzard yet, but it just comes from the Battle Pass countdown and previous season launch times. So just keep in mind that the time could still change, or simply run late if there is any issue with the update. Make sure to keep your Bnet launcher open that day so the game can update as soon as it releases. And of course, as always, there might be a lot of queue when the season launches, so just be ready for that as well. You might not get in directly.

New Tank Hero: D.Mon

Obviously, the biggest addition coming with Season 4 is D.Mon, a new Tank hero who also pilots a Mech like D.Va. We already made an article where we detailed her kit, abilities, and specificities, but here is a small recap of what D.Mon is all about! Unlike D.Va, D.Mon will use a melee weapon and a shield like Reinhardt, on top of having access to a machine gun, giving her both ranged and close-range options.

New Mythic Cosmetics

As always, Season 4 will also introduce new Battle Pass content, including a Mythic Skin and a Mythic Weapon. The heroes receiving these new Mythic cosmetics have been revealed tonight during the release of the official launch trailer. You will be able to obtain a new skin for Genji and a weapon for Sojourn!

When it comes to the Battle Pass, it gets a pretty cool revamp! You do not have to pick every reward in a specific order anymore. From season 4 onwards, you can choose the skins in the order that you want. So every time you hit a milestone that contains a skin, it opens an additional window where you can pick the one you want first!

Three Maps Are Getting Reworked

Three existing maps will also receive reworks in Season 4:

  • Paraiso
  • Eichenwalde
  • Busan

The reworks will affect both the maps’ visuals and layouts, and you can check out how they look after the rework here!

New Skins, Events and More

As usual, Season 4 will also bring a lot of additional content, including new skins, a collaboration and a new event! You can also expect a new hero balance update, with changes to hero stats, abilities and perks arriving alongside the new season. The exact changes will be revealed once Blizzard publishes the full patch notes. For now, here are all the new skins coming and some additional content you can expect:

  • Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania Event
    • Support your favorite Meka Pilot
    • Complete challenges related to that Pilot
    • Unlock lore
    • Earn Exclusive rewards such as lootboxes
  • Rank Reset and New Emerald Rank for competitive
  • Team Drives Event
    • Team up, stick together, and earn rewards
  • New Le SSERAFIM Collaboration
  • Overwatch World Cup
    • Support your favorite team
  • New Ultimate Battle Pass and Starter Bundles
  • New Shop Skins: Young Gods

So are you ready to test the new Tank hero? With multiple map reworks, new Mythic cosmetics, and the usual collection of seasonal content, there is quite a bit coming with Season 4. So team up and get ready!
