Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV Delayed to Late 2026

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV developers have pushed the game’s release to the end of the year, delaying it from its original September 17th launch date.

In a video released today, Game Director Jan Theysen explained why the team decided to delay Dawn of War IV. Put simply, the developers believe pushing back the release is the right move to give the team more time to incorporate community feedback, improve performance, and squash additional bugs.

The goal is to make launch day as smooth as possible, and the team believes this extra time will help them get there.

Theysen also reassured the community that the feedback players have provided has already had a real impact on the game’s development. While fans will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on Dawn of War IV, the developers aren’t going quiet in the meantime. More deep dives, developer talks, and other videos are rolling out in the coming months to keep fans updated while the team prepares for launch.

On top of that, the roadmap for Dawn of War IV is getting additional updates because of the delays.
