The part of Cricket that is most like baseball is where you as the batter have a bat and stand on a diamond as the opposing team pitches a ball to you. At this point the onus is on you, the hitter, to hit that ball as far and as fast as you can. Your goal is to keep the other team distracted long enough for you and any other players out on the bases to run home. It is a cyclical game with almost no violence.
